Last weekend I invited a bunch of friends and their kids over for some Christmas cookie decorating! We had a blast! It happened to be ALL girls so the hubby high-tailed it out of the house..
To prepare for the party, I designated two areas in my kitchen. I had pre-made sugar cookie cut-outs and had a bunch on a plate. I also made enough dough so everyone could have an individual ball to work with and choose their own cutouts. The kitchen table was the decorating area and the island was the dough rolling and cut out area.
When I planned this little party, I had visions of smoothly decorated Christmas cookies with dainty decorations adorning them. What we got was GOBS of frosting and PILES of sprinkles…But hey, the girls had fun and the cookies tasted great (of course, they were LOADED with sugar!!).
Everyone went home with a box of decorated cookies and some plain ones they could decorate later.
This is what the holidays are about to me-spending time with people I love!
And eating cookies. 🙂

Cream together the butter, sugar and 3 eggs.
Once creamed, add the rest of the ingredients.
Refrigerate for 1 hour. Roll dough to between 1/8″ and 1/4″ thick and cut out.
